Job summary

Standards Australia is recruiting a Research, Insights, and Analytics Manager to lead a team delivering high-quality research, analysis and insights. You will guide methodologies, manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with strategic objectives.

You will oversee the Voice of Experience and drive continuous improvement, governance, and effective use of AI to enhance productivity, shaping insights for stakeholders across Australia.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, Data Analysis, or relevant applied field.
  • 7+ years of experience in research, analysis, strategy, or consulting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to conduct and produce high‑quality research, analysis, and reports.
  • Strong analytical, research, data mining, data modelling, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to schedule, monitor and manage work to maximise the use of time and effort.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively to achieve objectives.
  • Able to articulate and explain information to stakeholders, peers, and senior management.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Research team and Voice of Experience function.
  • Set the vision and direction of the team, balancing daily operations with strategic thinking and risk management.
  • Lead development of research methodologies and oversee qualitative and quantitative studies for internal and external projects.
  • Present findings in reports, presentations, and graphics using qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Monitor developments in Australia and internationally that affect standards work.
  • Improve governance, templates, processes and QA to enhance consistency and efficiency.
  • Manage AI utilisation to enhance productivity across projects.
  • Define scopes, plans, resources, and progress across a portfolio of deliverables.

About the role Lead and manage a team of research analysts to support Standards Australia by delivering high-quality research, analysis, and insights. You will drive best practices, ensure continuous improvement, and enable consistent, high-quality deliverables and outcomes. This role will also manage the Voice of Experience function.

This role involves high collaboration with cross-functional teams to plan, manage, and deliver research projects that align with the organisation's strategic objectives. You will also be hands-on in managing research projects.

What you’ll do

  • Managing the Research team and Voice of Experience team
  • Set the vision and direction of the team, balancing daily operational management with strategic thinking, critical thinking, and proactive risk management
  • Lead the development of research methodologies and oversee various qualitative and quantitative research for internal stakeholders and external client projects to inform decision-making and drive initiatives
  • Ensure that research findings are well‑organised and presented in reports, presentations, and graphics, using both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Monitor and provide insights/opportunities into developments in Australia and internationally that may affect the organisation's standards development work and footprint
  • Ensure that insights are collected, curated, and stored in a way that provides the greatest utility to the organisation
  • Develop and continuously improve research governance, templates, processes and quality assurance frameworks to enhance consistency and efficiency
  • Manage effective utilisation of AI to enhance productivity
  • Apply project management methodologies to manage competing priorities, resources, risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations across a portfolio of research deliverables
  • Champion research thought leadership and introduce innovative ways of sharing curated knowledge and artifacts
  • Lead the planning, delivery and governance of multiple research and insights projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, budget and quality expectations
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery
  • Define project scopes, develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress
  • Lead the capture, analysis and translation of employee, customer and stakeholder insights into actionable strategies that drive continuous improvement and measurable business impact

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Data Analysis, or relevant applied industry experience
  • 7+ years of experience in research, analysis, strategy, or consulting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven ability to conduct and produce high‑quality research, analysis, and reports
  • Strong analytical, research, data mining, data modelling, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to schedule, monitor and manage work to maximise the use of time and effort
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a group to achieve common objectives
  • Able to articulate and explain information, both verbally and written to stakeholders, peers, and senior management
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent projects, competing priorities, budgets, timelines and stakeholders
