Job summary

Standards Australia is seeking a Process, Automation & Enablement Specialist to partner with the business to analyse processes and enable automation opportunities. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with extension prospects.

You will lead end-to-end process design, identify simplifications, and advocate value-led automation and governance in collaboration with IT and business teams. A Lean/Six Sigma background and cross-functional delivery are essential.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement or related field.
  • Experience improving processes and driving operational excellence.
  • Experience building business cases and benefits realization.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and requirements gathering.
  • Exposure to automation and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Experience with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the assessment, design and optimisation of end-to-end business processes across the organisation.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to eliminate, simplify and standardise processes prior to technology enablement.
  • Facilitate current-state and future-state process design activities to support improvement and enablement initiatives.
  • Apply a structured decision hierarchy and promote a value-led approach to ensure value-driven solutions.
  • Support solutions including process automation and AI use cases such as document analysis, knowledge retrieval and decision support.
  • Assess business value and feasibility.
  • Work closely with Business Owners to embed automation and AI assessment into business cases and project concept proposals.
  • Work closely with IT, vendors and digital teams to ensure technical feasibility, security and system integration.
  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of AI governance controls as practical use cases emerge.
  • Ensure opportunities are appropriately assessed against organisational policies, risk requirements and governance processes.

About the role
In this role you will identify, evaluate, and enable opportunities to improve business processes, operational performance, and organisational effectiveness. You will partner with business stakeholders, project teams and technology teams to embed process optimisation, automation and AI considerations into business operations, project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is a 12 month fixed-term contract with opportunities for extension.

  • Ensure opportunities are appropriately assessed against organisational policies, risk requirements and governance processes
About you
  • Qualification in Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, continuous improvement, operational excellence or business transformation roles
  • Experience developing business cases, value assessments and benefits realisation approaches
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and requirements gathering activities
  • Exposure to automation and AI-enabled business solutions, including understanding of business applications and adoption considerations
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across business and technology functions
