Deakin University in Geelong, WAURN Ponds Campus, is seeking a full-time (fixed-term until December 2028) researcher to advance mineral processing research. The role combines high-quality research, collaboration with industry partners, grant activity, and mentorship of students, contributing to a strong, impact-driven research program.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant discipline, experience with particle agglomeration and lab work, and a track record of publications.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent qualifications and experience in chemical engineering, materials engineering/science, environmental engineering or related technical disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience with particle agglomeration and laboratory proficiency.
• Emerging research and scholarship through publications, and/or exhibitions as appropriate to the discipline.
• Capacity to contribute to teaching, research and administration.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.

• Collaboration across disciplines and with industry partners, building strong research networks and identifying opportunities for partnerships.
• Research funding capability and leading competitive grant and funding applications.
• Support and mentorship to students and early-career researchers, including co-supervising Honours/HDR students and working with experienced mentors.
• A strong research profile and impact, communicating outcomes effectively and developing a track record of excellence, timely delivery, recognition and community/industry impact.
