Qualifications

  • PhD in Psychology, Neuropsychology, Neuroscience, Sleep Science or closely related discipline.
  • Experience in sleep, ageing, cognitive neuroscience or dementia-related fields.
  • Experience coordinating complex research projects and managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong quantitative data analysis skills with relevant software.
  • Evidence of research excellence through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
  • Experience with older adult populations and/or clinical research participants desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate research projects focused on sleep, ageing and dementia risk in older adults.
  • Design, implement and manage research activities per approved protocols.
  • Collect, analyse and interpret quantitative and/or clinical data.
  • Contribute to preparation of research publications, reports and presentations.

Research Fellow - Sleep and Neuropsychology

Full time fixed term for two years at Camperdown

Opportunity to contribute to internationally recognised research in sleep, ageing and dementia risk

Base Salary Academic Level B $132,533 - $157,381 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Sleep and Neuropsychology to join a multidisciplinary research team focused on sleep, ageing and cognitive health. This position will work under guidance of Professor Sharon Naismith play a key role in coordinating and delivering research projects investigating sleep and ageing in older adults at risk of dementia.

Working within a collaborative research environment, you will contribute to high-quality research outcomes, support project delivery, engage with participants and stakeholders, and help advance evidence-based approaches to understanding the relationship between sleep, neuropsychology and healthy ageing.

Your key responsibilities will be to
  • coordinate research projects focused on sleep, ageing and dementia risk in older adults

  • design, implement and manage research activities in accordance with approved protocols

  • collect, analyse and interpret quantitative and/or clinical research data

  • contribute to the preparation of research publications, reports and presentations

  • support participant recruitment, assessment and retention activities

  • collaborate with academic, clinical and industry partners as required

  • assist with research ethics, governance and regulatory compliance requirements

  • contribute to grant applications and other research funding initiatives.

  • experience working with older adult populations and/or clinical research participants is desirable

  • demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders.
