About the Job:

As a Cloud Systems Administrator for the Managed Application Services (MAS) team in SAS’s Cloud and Information Services (CIS) division, you will be responsible for all aspects of our hosted and remote managed SAS application environments.

You will work collaboratively with customers, analysts, developers and implementation team members to manage, diagnose, debug, design, and prototype SAS and third-party enterprise class software systems.

You will work with global R&D, Product, Technical Support, and CIS teams to drive customer satisfaction and ensure service quality across all our hosted and remote managed customer environments. A keen eye for continuous improvement, quality, efficiency, and automation with a passion to drive it in all aspects of the job is required.

As part of certain customer engagements, you may be required to meet additional customer-specific requirements, such as background checks, security vetting, security clearances, or other access requirements.

As a Cloud Systems Administrator, you will:

• Administer, maintain and support SAS software and customer environments.
• Deploy, configure and operate SAS platforms and supporting technologies.

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of technical experience in enterprise software administration, platform operations, or technical support
• Experience in at least two of the following areas
  • Enterprise platform administration and support.
  • Systems administration supporting Linux or UNIX environments.
  • Customer-facing technical support, consulting, or professional services.
  • Software deployment, upgrades, migrations, or operational support activities.
• Experience troubleshooting application, platform, or infrastructure-related issues
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer engagement skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across technical teams and customer environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience installing, configuring and administering SAS software and solutions.
• Experience with Linux/UNIX administration and scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar)
• Experience with cloud platforms, container technologies, or Kubernetes.
• Experience troubleshooting enterprise applications, middleware, or distributed systems.
• Experience developing automation using tools such as Python, Ansible, or related technologies
• Familiarity with IT service management practices including incident, request, and change management.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, preferably Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

Additional Skills and Abilities:

• Understanding of security, performance, server design, cross-platform architectures, SAS products, SAS solutions, storage, networking, and enterprise hardware.
• Proficiency with Linux system administration tasks including configuration, troubleshooting, and automation.
• Ability to develop scripts and automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and consistency.
• Familiarity with networking, distributed systems, and cloud computing concepts.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
