Job summary

Novita in Adelaide, SA, is seeking a Repairs & Maintenance Technician to deliver high‑quality mobility and assistive technology solutions that enhance client independence and quality of life. You’ll manufacture, modify, repair and maintain mobility, seating and related equipment within the Mobility and Seating team, collaborating with therapists, clients and colleagues to achieve optimal outcomes.

• Certificate III or equivalent in a technical field or practical experience.
• Trade qualifications highly regarded
• Experience servicing, repairing, maintaining, modifying or manufacturing mechanical and/or electronic equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Sound WHS and quality assurance understanding
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders
• Experience with disability services and travel readiness
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel

About the Role

As a Repairs and Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality mobility and assistive technology solutions that enhance client independence and quality of life. Working within the Mobility and Seating team, you will apply your technical expertise to manufacture, customise, repair and maintain a range of equipment, while collaborating closely with therapists, clients and colleagues to achieve the best possible outcomes.

In this role, you will:

• Manufacture, modify, customise and repair mobility, seating and pressure management equipment
• Complete wheelchair modifications and seating adaptations to meet individual client needs
• Provide breakdown, repair and maintenance services across metropolitan Adelaide and regional locations as required
• Design and develop customised assistive technology solutions
• Perform electronic repairs and programming of wheelchair control systems
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to quality and compliance requirements
• Build positive relationships with clients, therapists, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, workshop operations and service development
• Support a safe, collaborative and customer-focused team environment

What You’ll Need

• Certificate III (AQF Level 3) or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, Engineering, Manufacturing or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Trade qualifications or secondary trade skills are highly regarded
• Demonstrated experience in servicing, repairing, maintaining, modifying or manufacturing mechanical and/or electronic equipment
• Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, specifications and other technical documentation
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and quality assurance practices
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing demands and meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, clinicians, suppliers and stakeholders
• Experience working with people with disability, or the ability to work effectively and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
• Proficiency in using computers and maintaining accurate records, service documentation and reports
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to travel across metropolitan and regional locations as required
• Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Check, or willingness to obtain
