Job summary

Reo Recruitment is seeking an experienced SCADA or controls engineer to strengthen our renewable energy client's OT environment. The role involves hands-on work with Ignition, PLC/RTU systems and plant controllers, across design, commissioning and operational handover.

You will investigate problems across SCADA and controls, coordinate responses with internal teams and vendors, and help improve configuration, system recovery, documentation and testing standards for long-term support.

Qualifications

• Must have strong Ignition experience including configuration, scripting and alarms.
• Breadth across PLC/RTU, telemetry and plant-control systems.
• Experience diagnosing issues across DNP3, Modbus, OPC UA and IEC 61850.
• Ability to translate complex problems into practical engineering actions.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex SCADA and controls faults across operational assets.
• Configure and enhance Ignition-based applications and interfaces.
• Investigate PLC, RTU and plant-controller behaviour across renewable sites.
• Trace telemetry and control issues across field, network and SCADA layers.
• Support communications across DNP3, Modbus, OPC UA and IEC 61850 environments.
• Improve the quality, availability and reliability of operational data.
• Contribute engineering input into new assets, upgrades and control-system designs.
• Plan and support technical testing during project and commissioning activities.
• Strengthen system backup, restoration and operational support arrangements.
• Work across operations, engineering, cyber, infrastructure and external vendors.
