Job summary

CPB Contractors, part of the CIMIC Group, is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join the HumeLink West project on a FIFO 14/7 roster. You will provide practical environmental advice, ensure compliance, and support sustainable project outcomes with site teams.

Reporting to the Environmental Manager, you will implement PEPM, conduct inspections, and coordinate monitoring programs across water, dust, noise, erosion controls, flora/fauna, and waste.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
• 3–5 years' environmental experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy, or major projects.
• Strong understanding of environmental legislation, approvals and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to influence and work collaboratively with operational teams.
• Strong reporting, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Construction White Card (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and maintenance of the Project Environmental Management Plan (PEMP).
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring activities.
• Provide environmental advice to project engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Assist with environmental incident investigations and corrective actions; monitor environmental performance across construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental approvals, permits, licences, and regulatory requirements.
• Support environmental reporting and record-keeping.
• Coordinate environmental monitoring programs including water quality, dust and air quality, noise and vibration, erosion and sediment controls, flora and fauna management, and waste management.
• Facilitate environmental inductions and awareness training.
• Build strong working relationships with project stakeholders, subcontractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Identify opportunities for environmental improvement and innovation.
