Job summary

Axon is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to join the remote team in Australia. You will help build, scale, and secure cloud platforms, applying SRE practices to enhance reliability and performance for mission-critical services.

The role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience, Linux expertise, cloud (Azure/AWS), Kubernetes, IaC, and strong programming skills in Python/Go/Java/C#. Remote Australia-based work with on-call duties and a clear path to improve observability and automation.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in software engineering, SRE, or infrastructure roles.
• Solid understanding of operating systems, preferably Linux.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or similar.
• Experience with Kubernetes platforms like AKS, EKS, or similar.
• Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C#, Java, or similar.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation practices.
• Experience with observability tools (logging, metrics, APM).
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts (e.g., Terraform, ARM, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Australian government security clearance, or ability to obtain clearance (AUS citizenship) required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure cloud platforms and tools.
• Apply site reliability engineering principles to improve system stability and performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in distributed cloud-native systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support service reliability and operational excellence.
• Create and maintain documentation to support engineers and improve self-service capabilities.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, learning best practices along the way.
• Continuously develop your skills and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
