Job summary

Australian Payments Plus Limited is hiring a Cloud Site Reliability Engineer to support reliable, available, secure and resilient cloud services. You’ll work across AWS and Kubernetes, implement automation, and strengthen observability for scale.

You’ll respond to incidents, optimize infrastructure, and build CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with Engineering and Security teams. This role is based in Sydney with a focus on high-availability platforms.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in Site Reliability, Cloud or Platform Engineering for highly available cloud environments.
• Strong AWS expertise across EKS, EC2, EFS, VPC and IAM with cloud networking understanding.
• Kubernetes experience with cluster management, scaling and upgrades.
• Infrastructure-as-code and automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK or Ansible.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket and strong observability.
• Engineering mindset focused on reliability, resilience, incident response, disaster recovery and controlled change.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and improve cloud and platform infrastructure for high availability, resilience and security.
• Act as a first responder to cloud and platform incidents, troubleshooting complex reliability issues and reducing MTTR.
• Engineer and optimise AWS and Kubernetes environments (EKS, EC2, EFS, VPC, IAM) for scalable workloads.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automate tasks to enable frequent, reliable delivery.
• Strengthen observability across infrastructure, applications and cloud services using meaningful metrics.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Security and Service Management to build platform resilience and disaster recovery capabilities.
