Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. seeks a Senior Cloud Security Specialist (Zscaler SME) for a Canberra-based federal program.

The role is predominantly remote with occasional Canberra attendance for planning workshops and knowledge transfer, under a 12-month contract with extension options. You will lead Zscaler design and optimization, guide Zero Trust architecture, improve monitoring and automation, and mentor internal teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience implementing and supporting Zscaler solutions.
• Strong expertise across ZIA, ZPA, Zscaler Cloud Connector.
• Experience with cloud security engineering and monitoring.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Policy as Code.
• Automation and scripting to improve operations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Proven ability to create technical docs and runbooks.
• Mentoring and knowledge transfer to teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, review, optimisation, and support of enterprise Zscaler environments.
• Provide expert guidance on Zero Trust architecture and cloud security best practices.
• Improve platform monitoring, alerting, observability, and dashboards.
• Review platform resilience, disaster recovery, and security controls.
• Develop and maintain IaC and PaC capabilities.
• Introduce automation to improve operational efficiency.
• Produce technical documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
• Mentor and coach internal teams through knowledge transfer programs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks and improvements.
• Assist with troubleshooting, incident response, and operational initiatives.
