Disability Advocacy Network Australia (DANA) is seeking a Senior Manager, Communications & Government Relations to lead a small team and shape public debate across Australia. You will influence policy, amplify lived experiences, and strengthen DANA's national voice in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong media relationships and an understanding of government and political processes.
• Experience in strategic communications, media relations and policy advocacy.
• Exceptional writing skills and sound judgement under pressure.
• Proven people management skills and a collaborative leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small communications team.
• Build and strengthen strategic relationships across media and government, working with DANA's CEO and Policy and Advocacy leadership.
• Develop strategic government relations and engagement approaches aligned with DANA's priorities.
• Monitor political and policy developments, identify opportunities and risks for DANA, and advise on positioning to influence issues.
• Prepare media releases, speeches, briefings and CEO communications.
• Oversee communications planning, publications and organisational messaging.
