Job summary

National Indigenous Employment and Training Alliance Pty Ltd. is seeking a Head of Communications to lead our communications function from a remote work-friendly setting.

The role shapes how we engage members, government, employers and partners while guiding content across channels and managing our digital presence. You will own the annual communications plan, produce content, coordinate campaigns and ensure our voice reflects our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led identity.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in communications, marketing, media, journalism or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Around 5 years’ experience in communications across content, digital channels and campaigns.
• Excellent writing and editing skills for diverse audiences and channels.
• Experience planning and delivering communications campaigns.
• Experience managing websites, social media, newsletters, and media releases.
• Strong cultural competency with respect for First Nations stories and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the annual communications plan with priorities, audiences and messages.
• Write, edit and produce content across channels, including newsletters and the annual report.
• Manage the Alliance website, social media, email newsletters, and media activity.
• Collaborate with staff, members, partners, sponsors and suppliers to gather content and build relationships.
• Maintain brand guidelines, templates, approval processes, contact lists and content libraries to ensure cultural safety.
