Job summary

Telstra is offering a 9-month fixed-term contract for a software engineer to design and build Java/Spring Boot microservices. You will develop secure, scalable cloud solutions, support the full development lifecycle, and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple Australian locations.

You will leverage SQL/NoSQL, Linux, and CI/CD tools in a modern tech stack, with opportunities to coach teammates and contribute to documentation and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

Proficiency in Java 8+, Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Linux, and CI/CD tools.
Experience designing secure, scalable cloud solutions (AWS, Salesforce).
Strong communication, accountability for delivery.

Responsibilities

Design and build Java and Spring Boot applications using microservices.
Develop secure, scalable, high-performing solutions across integrated systems.
Support the full development lifecycle, including configuration, development, testing and production support.
Explain technical options, trade-offs and recommendations to stakeholders.
Coach team members and contribute to quality documentation and delivery.
