Job summary

Pluralis Research invites a Research Engineer Intern to join Agora, our production decentralized training system. You’ll ship a roadmap project, work on concurrent and parallel systems, and train infrastructure across cloud providers.

This 3-month fixed-term internship is Australia-based, with remote collaboration across time zones; you will receive mentorship and contribute to real open problems from week one. Proficiency in English required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or recently completed a Masters or PhD in ML, CS, or related field.
• Strong Python and PyTorch; experience with concurrent/parallel systems.
• Hands-on exposure to distributed ML using cloud providers like AWS/GCP.
• Aligns with Protocol Learning mission and is ready for fast-paced research work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a well-scoped roadmap project for Agora with final presentation.
• Develop or improve multiprocessing, async I/O, and threading components.
• Work with large-scale training infrastructure across AWS/GCP.
• Contribute to production code daily with mentorship.
