Job summary

Avance Clinical is seeking an experienced Project Director I/II to drive clinical trial programs from Australia. This remote-friendly role supports trials across diverse therapeutic areas, coordinating project teams, vendors, and sponsors.

You will oversee timelines, budgets and regulatory compliance while line-managing Project Managers and Project Associates. The ideal candidate holds a life sciences degree, 2+ years as a Project Director in CRO settings, and strong leadership and communication

Qualifications

Bachelor’s level degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or equivalent field.
Minimum 2 years as a Project Director in a CRO, with at least 2 years of line managing staff.
Experience leading a team.
Working knowledge of ICH GCP and applicable regulatory requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

Oversee projects to deliver on time, within budget, and with defined outcomes.
Provide guidance to Project Managers to ensure high-quality delivery across timelines, risks and issues.
Manage sponsor communications and cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Oversee project finances including forecasting, contract management, sponsor invoicing and vendor payments.
Line manage PMs and PAs; support career development and staff retention.
Ensure compliance with SOPs, ICH GCP and regulatory requirements.
