Job summary

EHS Support is seeking a Principal Environmental Scientist to join our Australian Approvals and Compliance team. You will deliver nationwide approvals and compliance projects, serving Queensland-based clients and collaborating with AES.

The role emphasizes business development, leadership of a national team, and close work with senior leadership to grow the practice. Occasional travel for field work may be required.

Qualifications

• A degree in a science, engineering or legal discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in Queensland and Commonwealth environmental approvals (both primary and secondary approvals).
• Strong understanding of Commonwealth and State environmental legislation.
• Proven ability to build and sustain client relationships.
• Experience within resources sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical proposals and strengthen client relationships through business development.
• Develop new lines of service delivery leveraging your complementary skills and expertise with the national EHS Support/AES team.
• Assist in capacity-building and development of a high performing national compliance and approvals team.
• Lead environmental impact assessments and complex approvals processes.
• Manage projects within scope, budget, and quality standards.
• Mentor junior and mid-level consultants to build their expertise in environmental approvals and compliance.
• Foster collaboration within AES and EHS Supports multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional results.
