Job summary

EHS Support is seeking a Principal Environmental Scientist to join our Australian Approvals and Compliance team. In this role, you will lead nationwide approvals and compliance projects, serving as a focal point for Queensland-based clients and projects, with a strong emphasis on the resources sector and opportunities to contribute to decarbonisation initiatives.

You will develop technical proposals, build client relationships, mentor consultants and collaborate with AES and national teams to

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in Queensland and Commonwealth environmental approvals (both primary and secondary approvals).
Strong understanding of Commonwealth and State environmental legislation.
Proven ability to build and sustain client relationships.
Experience within resources sectors preferred.
Strong written, verbal, and strategic thinking skills.
Authorisation to work in Australia (Australian and New Zealand Citizens and Australian Permanent Residents).

Responsibilities

Develop technical proposals and strengthen client relationships through business development.
Lead environmental impact assessments and complex approvals processes.
Manage projects within scope, budget, and quality standards.
Mentor junior and mid-level consultants to build their expertise in environmental approvals and compliance.
