The Doing Co. is seeking a proactive Residential Construction Estimator to support premium projects.

This part-time remote role (24 hours/week) focuses on auditing estimates, building data-driven costs, and coordinating subcontractor pricing with a view to evolving into PO management and cost tracking. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of estimating in Australia, a building-related background, and keen attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience estimating for a construction company (AU/US/Europe).
• Civil engineering, quantity surveying, architecture, or building background.
• Experience creating scopes of work and managing subcontractor communication.
• Experience building or maintaining cost databases and price lists.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience supporting residential construction, custom homes, renovations, or extensions.

Responsibilities

• Review existing project estimates, complete material take-offs, and prepare multiple estimate versions from concept through final pricing.
• Build and maintain a reliable cost database using historical project data, including labour rates and material costs.
• Price variations, design changes, and construction alternatives with fast turnaround times.
• Create estimating templates, cost catalogs, and cost codes to standardise project estimates.
• Coordinate pricing updates and subcontractor communications; track quotes.
• Assist with improving estimating workflows and incorporating AI tools.
