Job summary

Compass Group Pty Limited in Australia seeks a Senior Operations Manager to lead a complex, multi-village remote mining site in SA. You will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure safe, high-quality services across catering, accommodation, cleaning, retail and support services.

The role is FIFO based with a 5/2 or 4/3 roster, requiring strong safety leadership, stakeholder engagement and the ability to stabilise performance across dispersed teams.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of senior leadership across large, multi-site operations.
• Experience delivering safety, compliance and risk management.
• Experience managing budgets and cost drivers.
• Proven track record in remote or FIFO settings.

Responsibilities

• Support the Area Manager - Operations.
• Lead multi-village operations to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality services.
• Drive performance uplift across Kitchen Operations, Laundry, Staff Accommodation.
• Build trusted client relationships and lead regular performance engagements.
• Champion safety leadership, audit compliance and incident management.
• Develop and coach Department Managers and Frontline Leaders.
• Strengthen cultural health, engagement and workforce stability.
• Deliver strong commercial outcomes across labour, cost control and retail.
• Oversee workforce planning, scheduling, mobilisation and operational projects.
• Work on improvement projects to deliver the best Living and Working Services experience.
