Job summary

Vision Australia is seeking an Orientation & Mobility Specialist based in Maroochydore with work-from-home flexibility. You will assess mobility, advise on aids, and support clients to navigate their communities with confidence, using mobility strategies and Seeing Eye Dogs where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Orientation & Mobility with COMS completion.
• Experience with children, adults and older adults.
• Experience delivering O&M services in-person or via other mediums.
• Training and intervention strategies for individuals and groups.

Responsibilities

• Assess mobility for blind or low-vision clients to travel safely.
• Advise on mobility aids and prescribe a range of devices.
• Assist clients to use mobility strategies, aids, and Seeing Eye Dogs.
• Monitor and advise on use of low vision aids within mobility programs.
