Job summary

Anypear is seeking a versatile Mechanical Design Engineer for a fully remote role focused on engineering administration, drafting, and 3D modelling for piping, skid structures, and NPI projects in mining infrastructure. You will work with AutoCAD on 2D/3D drawings, PFDs and P&IDs, and contribute to tender packages and documentation.

The role requires a Mechanical/related degree and 2+ years drafting experience, with strong technical writing and MS Word/Excel skills; you will ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Drafting, or a related field.
• Minimum 2+ years experience in drafting or engineering roles, preferably in mining, heavy industry, or NPI sectors.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills (2D/3D) with demonstrated P&IDs and PFDs experience.
• Excellent technical writing for compliant tender documents and engineering reports.
• Able to work independently, show initiative and problem-solving.
• Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• Excellent English written and spoken skills.

Responsibilities

• Support drafting and development of PFDs and P&IDs for NPI utility systems (water, fuel, air, lubrication).
• Use AutoCAD to create accurate 2D/3D drawings meeting industry and safety standards.
• Support NPI mining projects through PFS, DES, FEED and Detailed Design phases.
• Assist in developing robust tender packages and construction-ready docs for mining infra.
• Ensure design continuity across phases to minimise redesign and scope creep.
• Provide engineering admin support, including calculations and data in Excel; draft and format docs in Word.
• Track project changes and align assumptions with final outcomes; maintain records in document control system.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards and WA Mines Safety regulations.
