Job summary

Aviato Consulting Pty Ltd seeks a Senior Backend Engineer (Golang) to architect distributed systems on Google Cloud and partner with enterprise clients across Australia and New Zealand.

You will optimize transactional data flows, design scalable APIs, and lead cross-functional teams, with occasional Melbourne CBD engagements. Strong Go/Python/Java/Node.js skills and cloud-native mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in one or more languages (Python, Java, Go, C++, or Node.js).
• Cloud-native production experience with Docker, Kubernetes manifests, and IaC (Terraform).
• Excellent English communication suitable for enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

• Architect distributed backend systems and define API and data schemas.
• Optimize high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed services.
• Integrate with Google Cloud resources (GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions).
• Design streaming and data flows using modern data stores and message brokers.
• Maintain coding standards, reviews, and cross-regional collaboration.
• Collaborate with Melbourne-based stakeholders on architecture alignments.
