Job summary

Northern Beaches Council invites applications for an Engineering Intern in the Transport & Civil Infrastructure team. The six-month internship is full-time (35 hours/week) and targets a civil engineering or transport planning student seeking local government experience in traffic engineering and urban infrastructure.

Salary range is AU$51,448.32 to AU$66,795.12 per annum plus super. The role supports traffic investigations and administrative tasks, with work-from-home opportunities and flexible

Qualifications

• Student currently undertaking a Civil Engineering or Transport Planning Degree.
• Willing to work 4–5 days per week.
• Self-motivated and proactive in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support Traffic Engineers and Traffic Officers in traffic investigations and admin servicing of the Local Transport Forum.
• Investigate and respond to customer requests related to traffic engineering functions.
• Assist with Work Orders for signposting and linemarking arising from Transport Forum resolutions.
• Assist with reviewing traffic permit applications assigned to the traffic team.
