Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a seasoned Forward Deployed AI Engineer to embed with customers, shape technical direction, and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade AI applications. You will prototype AI apps, drive adoption with strategic customers, and help codify repeatable AI patterns within our platform.

The role emphasizes hands-on software and data engineering, experience with foundation models, and LLM/MLOps practices. A customer-facing, autonomous mindset is essential in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience building and deploying production-grade systems.
2-3 years of experience building Generative AI or agentic applications.
Strong hands-on software engineering, data engineering, and applied AI/ML skills.
Experience with foundation models, context engineering, fine-tuning, semantic search, RAG, and agentic workflows.
Knowledge of LLMOps/MLOps: evaluation, observability, serving, monitoring, lifecycle management.
Ability to translate customer needs into actionable technical strategy and work with executives.

Responsibilities

Build and prototype AI apps on Cloudera to demonstrate enterprise AI use cases.
Partner with strategic customers to move prototypes to production readiness.
Shape enterprise AI strategy and align initiatives with business goals.
Codify patterns into repeatable architectures, productized solutions, and starter kits.
Mentor teams and contribute to resources that accelerate AI capability with customers.
