Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to support commissioning, servicing, and lifecycle performance of advanced power electronics systems. The role is customer-facing, requires leading on-site activities, and delivering expert technical guidance across industrial, energy, and marine environments.

You will travel domestically and internationally (90%+), perform on-site analysis, provide training, and produce safety and service documentation.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Electrician or electrical engineering degree.
• Solid understanding of power electronics, electrical circuits and harmonic analysis.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, Hi-Pot).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-commissioning, commissioning and servicing of power electronics systems.
• Provide technical guidance to customers during installation and service activities.
• Analyze operational data on-site and instruct customers/site personnel.
• Provide timely safety and status reports to management and customers.
• Deliver on-site training for operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Support Quality with root-cause analyses for equipment failures.
