Job summary

The Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) invites applications for an Education Project Officer to lead a Northern Queensland initiative, developing a Diabetes Support Worker Development Pathway for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health workers and practitioners. Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in project management, workforce development or health service improvement.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Experience planning and delivering engagement activities with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent written and spoken communication, budgeting and reporting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and coordinating project plans, governance arrangements, milestones and reporting.
• Building relationships and coordinating consultation with stakeholders across health, community services, education and workforce sectors.
• Coordinating workshops, focus groups, interviews, surveys and advisory meetings, and incorporating stakeholder feedback into pathway development.
• Reviewing existing diabetes education, workforce development, training and upskilling frameworks.
• Developing a proposed pathway that considers existing diabetes education products, career progression and flexible learning and training options.
• Supporting pathway implementation, including development of resources, transition planning and stakeholder engagement.
• Monitoring implementation, identifying barriers and enablers, and gathering feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Preparing the final project report and presenting findings, recommendations and next steps.
