Job summary

Natural Selection Group is seeking an experienced Data Analyst for an immediate 3-month contract to own digital analytics across a high-traffic online customer journey. You will work hands-on with SQL and BigQuery alongside Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand checkout behaviour and identify conversion opportunities for stakeholders.

The role can be performed remotely from anywhere in Australia, with Melbourne or Sydney preferred and optional office access.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience as a Data Analyst or in a closely related analytics role.
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Hands-on experience with BigQuery or a comparable cloud data environment.
• Strong Google Analytics experience.
• Practical knowledge of Google Tag Manager.
• Experience analysing digital funnels, checkout journeys, conversion rates or ecommerce behaviour.
• Ability to turn digital data into actionable business insights.
• Experience within technology businesses or technology teams in larger organisations.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and become productive quickly in a short-term contract.

Responsibilities

• Analyse online checkout funnels to identify conversion trends, friction points and opportunities for improvement
• Deliver detailed analysis using SQL, with a strong focus on BigQuery
• Interpret digital behaviour and performance data through Google Analytics
• Support tracking, measurement and analysis using Google Tag Manager
• Translate complex datasets into clear, commercially relevant insights
• Collaborate with product, digital and go-to-market stakeholders to answer key business questions
• Drive data-led decision-making across online customer journeys
• Manage analysis independently in a fast-moving environment with minimal supervision
• Support stakeholders across Australian and US time zones as required
