Job summary

Gfg Alliance is seeking a Controls Lead Field Engineer to install, commission and maintain hardware and software across Oil & Gas and Power Generation projects globally, with a flexible Australia-wide location.

The role requires on-site supervision of subcontractors, field service interventions and customer training, along with reporting and safety compliance. Travel worldwide is expected; fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

• 4- or 5-year college degree in Electrical / Electronic/ Mechanical/IT Engineering, or Technical High School.
• 5+ years of experience in Oil & Gas and Power Plant field activities.
• Ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Hands-on troubleshooting across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with control systems and instrumentation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission hardware and software in Oil & Gas, Power Generation and related industries.
• Troubleshoot field installations on-site.
• Prepare field services jobs and coordinate with project managers.
• Attend pre-outages meetings with customers.
• Lead commissioning and loop checks, perform functional tests.
• Supervise subcontractors and field staff.
• Write detailed reports after job completion.
• Ensure safety and compliance at sites.
