Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Construction Manager to lead a remote airfield project in Australia, directing interdisciplinary teams and overseeing construction activities from planning to completion. The role requires coordinating with engineers, ensuring constructability, and maintaining cost controls while upholding Bechtel's safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing major infrastructure/aviation projects.
• Knowledge of construction practices and economics and new design/construction methods.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven leadership within large organisations and with external bodies.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders while maintaining commercial awareness.
• Client-side or delivery-partner PM experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary teams and manage direct reports to establish construction methods and support activities.
• Oversee construction processes and review plans/specs for cost and constructability.
• Manage corporate processes, procedures, and proposal preparation.
• Recommend studies, lessons learned, and new methods to optimize construction completion.
• Monitor safety, quality, and contractor compliance and attend toolbox meetings.
