Job summary

Lifted (an Upwork Company) is seeking a CFD/Aerodynamics Task Designer to create compact, self-contained problems for AI model evaluation. You will craft precise statements on boundary conditions, mesh quality, flow regimes, and setup, and build deterministic scoring checkers with verified reference solutions.

The role is fully remote as an independent contractor with flexible scheduling, typically 10–39 hours per week, and compensation in USD per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience using OpenFOAM for CFD simulations.
• Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer.
• Experience with mesh generation, turbulence modeling, boundary conditions, and post-processing.

Responsibilities

• Design compact, self-contained CFD/aerodynamics tasks to evaluate AI models' engineering reasoning.
• Create clear, technically accurate problem statements covering BCs, mesh quality, flow regimes, and setup.
• Develop deterministic scoring checkers to evaluate AI-generated responses.
• Produce verified reference solutions to ensure tasks are solvable.
• Review and refine tasks for clarity, accuracy, and appropriate difficulty.
• Apply OpenFOAM experience to develop practical engineering scenarios.
• Work independently in a fully remote, asynchronous environment with scheduling flexibility.
