Prolific is seeking Aeronautical Engineers to join its expert B2B and AI research network as AI Trainer for CAD-based challenges. You’ll help design, validate, and 3D-print parts while your workflow is captured to train AI models.

This is a remote advisory role with paid vetting surveys and competitive hourly pay. Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or related field, be proficient with Open-source CAD (FreeCAD, KiCad), and comfortable with Python scripting.

Responsabilidades

• Paid vetting survey (Prescreener): approx 10 minutes, paid at $12/hour.
• Design physical objects suitable for 3D printing using open-source CAD software.
• Complete engineering design tasks with workflow capture for training AI models.
• Write and execute Python validation scripts to support your design workflow.
• Develop designs (e.g., fixed-wing glider, propeller blade, drone frame) within constraints.
• Typical tools: XFoil, OpenFOAM, OpenRocket, JavaProp, FreeCAD.

We are seeking AeronauticalEngineersto join our expert B2B and AI research network. This project supports the development of next-generation AI models by capturing how experienced engineers approach real-world CAD design challenges and validation workflows.

Please note: This is an invitation to join our expert talent pool. Participation in individual projects is not guaranteed and will depend on client demand and profile fit.

Researchers for this project typically pay up to $120/hour for the main study. Participants must first complete a paid vetting survey and a screening call before being invited to the study.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree or higher in AeronauticalEngineering or a closely related field
• Strong proficiency with open-source CAD software (e.g., FreeCAD, KiCad, or similar)
• Python development experience with the ability to write and execute scripts independently (Desirable but not mandatory)
• Experience writing validation scripts (not just using pre-built tools)(Desirable but not mandatory)
• Comfortable working from the command line (Desirable but not mandatory)
• Comfortable using Linux and/or Windows environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• A reliable internet connection and access to a computer

What you'll be doing in the role

• Paid vetting survey (Prescreener): Approximately 10 minutes, compensated at $12/hour
• Design physical objects suitable for 3D printing using open-source CAD software.
• Complete engineering design tasks while your workflow, including tool usage, clicks, and design decisions, is captured to help train AI models on engineering problem-solving.
• Write and execute Python validation scripts to support your design workflow.
• Fixed-wing glider maximizing glide distance (≤4 printed parts); propeller blade optimizing static thrust; rocket fin set minimizing drag while maintaining stability; drone frame minimizing weight subject to impact survival
• Typical tools: XFoil, OpenFOAM, OpenRocket, JavaProp, FreeCAD
