Boomering Inc. is seeking an Australian Accountant specializing in tax and SMSF to support a small Australian practice. The role emphasizes accuracy, accountability, and a proactive learning mindset within a collaborative team.

The position supports 75–80% Australian Tax and 20–25% SMSF tasks across 13–20 SMSFs. It offers a remote setup and flexible work arrangement with opportunities to grow technical capability and ownership of client deliverables.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in Australian accounting and taxation.
• Hands-on experience preparing individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns.
• Working knowledge and practical experience in SMSF accounting.
• Experience using Xero and BGL.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and supporting workpapers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Australian individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns for review.
• Prepare company financial statements and supporting tax workpapers.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and financial reports using Xero.
• Ensure tax accounting and reporting comply with applicable Australian requirements.
• Identify discrepancies, missing information and potential issues before submitting work for review.
• Prepare and process SMSF accounting work using BGL.
• Prepare SMSF financial statements, annual returns and supporting workpapers for review.
• Support SMSF audit preparation and respond to relevant queries.
• Maintain accurate and organised documentation in accordance with established client processes.
