Job summary

Alignerr seeks an Applied Physics Specialist (AI Training) to design advanced physics problems, author gold-standard solutions, and audit AI simulations for physical consistency. This is a fully remote, hourly contract with flexible scheduling.

Candidates should hold a PhD (or be in final stages) in Applied Physics or closely related fields, with deep mastery of core physics areas and the ability to explain complex derivations clearly in English.

Qualifications

• PhD completed or in final stages in Applied Physics or related field.
• Deep mastery of Classical Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Statistical Mechanics and Quantum Mechanics.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in English.
• Uncompromising eye for detail in units, notation and proofs.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced, open-ended physics problems at PhD qualifying exam level with multi-step reasoning.
• Author comprehensive gold-standard solutions with precise constants and units.
• Audit AI simulations, proofs and explanations for physical consistency.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI reasoning on boundary conditions and conservation laws.
• Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule.
