Job summary

Alignerr seeks a General Postdoctoral Researcher (Masters/PhDs) to help advance AI training by designing complex problems and stress-testing model reasoning. You will craft multi-disciplinary scenarios, evaluate AI solutions for rigor, and collaborate asynchronously with leading researchers from a home office.

The role is a fully remote, hourly contract (10–40 hours per week) offering freelance autonomy and opportunities for ongoing project work as new research initiatives launch.

Qualifications

• Holds a Master’s or PhD in a STEM or highly technical field from a top-tier university.
• Has a strong track record in research, publications, or complex technical project work.
• Thinks in systems — comfortable navigating multi-disciplinary problems with precision and creativity.
• Exceptional written communicator who can translate complex ideas with clarity and depth.
• Detail-oriented and self-directed — you hold yourself to a high standard without needing hand-holding.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced, multi-disciplinary problem sets that challenge and improve AI reasoning capabilities.
• Apply your domain expertise to craft complex, nuanced scenarios with real-world academic relevance.
• Review and evaluate AI-generated solutions for rigor, accuracy, and intellectual depth.
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to refine model performance.
• Ensure the highest standards of academic clarity and analytical precision across all deliverables.
• Work independently on task-based assignments, fully on your own schedule.
