Job summary

Nursing Australia is seeking a calm, switched-on Allocations Consultant for our Melbourne team. This casual role centers on matching nurses to shifts within a 7-day service, ensuring credentials and compliance are spot-on, and solving problems quickly when the pressure is on.

You’ll work after hours and weekends, with some day shifts as needed, in a remote capacity. The role requires strong communication and rostering skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in allocations, rostering, scheduling or workforce coordination (healthcare preferred).
• Clear and confident communication, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume, time-critical environment.
• High attention to detail, particularly with compliance and credentials.
• Confident using workforce management or booking systems.
• Available for early starts, late finishes and weekends.
• Experience in health labour hire, nursing agencies, aged care, disability or hospital staffing is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Allocate and coordinate shifts across a 7-day-a-week service, matching the right people to the right requests.
• Manage bookings and rosters in workforce management systems, accurately and in real time.
• Check compliance and credentials to ensure allocations meet requirements.
• Respond quickly to last-minute changes and after-hours demands.
• Communicate clearly with clients and our workforce by phone and in writing.
• Support after-hours operations and cover day shifts where needed.
