Job summary

Alignerr Corp. is seeking Back End Developers to design, build, and optimize server-side systems and APIs for AI products. This fully remote, hourly contract role welcomes engineers across Australia and offers flexible hours from 10–40 per week.

You will work on data pipelines, model-serving infrastructure, and scalable microservices, collaborating with researchers, engineers, and product leads across time zones.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust back end services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Build scalable server-side architecture to support AI workloads.
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code following engineering best practices.
• Integrate with databases, queues, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability as usage grows.
• Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Work independently on task-based assignments with flexible scheduling.
