Job summary

Jobgether SRL is partnering with an Australia-based client to recruit an Accountant Team Leader for a fully remote role. You will lead a team of accounting professionals, oversee financial reporting, taxation compliance, and client relationships while ensuring accuracy and adherence to Australian standards.

You will mentor staff, drive process improvements, and coordinate year-end activities in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of accounting experience, preferably in Australian public practice or professional services.
• Proven experience supervising or leading an accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles and taxation.
• Experience preparing financial statements, tax returns, BAS, and related reports.
• Experience with Xero/MYOB/QuickBooks or comparable platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of accountants, providing technical guidance and development opportunities.
• Allocate tasks, manage workloads, and ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
• Oversee financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy.
• Review tax returns, BAS, GST compliance, and other taxation obligations.
• Maintain high-quality documentation and risk controls; support client relationships.
