Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) is seeking a Middle Leader to support Xavier Catholic College’s mission by leading Religious Education curriculum development and teaching. The role involves aligning the curriculum with national, state, and local standards, employing effective pedagogies, and supervising teaching quality and student learning.

The appointment includes Middle Leader responsibilities with an allowance, and potential renewal subject to performance and ongoing need.

Qualifications

• Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination of designated curriculum areas taught in the school.
• Apply contemporary research and data analysis to classroom practice through professional development, staff supervision, and induction of new teachers.
• Provide pastoral care for staff engaged in the designated curriculum areas.
• Coordinate and develop work programs aligned with national, state, and local requirements.
• Stay current with curriculum developments and support staff learning through ongoing professional reading and research.
• Manage assessment, moderation, and reporting processes, including accurate record-keeping.
• Supervise teaching quality through collegial planning, moderation, classroom observation, and reflective practice.
• Monitor student learning outcomes using performance data and implement appropriate interventions.
• Contribute to school leadership through active participation in staff and middle leadership meetings.
• Manage financial and material resources, including budget planning and expenditure.
