Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education's St Columban's College in Caboolture seeks a Middle Leader to drive Religious Education curriculum at a school-wide level. Lead curriculum development, implement effective pedagogy, and supervise teaching quality, using data to guide decisions and manage resources.

The role is full-time and ongoing from January 2027, with an initial appointment at Middle Leader level and associated allowances, plus tax‑advantaged superannuation. A strong Catholic identity is required.

Qualifications

• Developed work programmes in alignment with national, state, and local requirements.
• Driving the assessment and moderation process when developing new programmes.
• Leading and innovating within a specified curriculum area.
• Stakeholder engagement fostering collaboration and transparency.
• Having responsibility for a financial budget.
• For this position you are required to be Catholic.

Responsibilities

• Leading the overall curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation across the school under the direction of Senior Leadership
• Applying contemporary learning and teaching research to classroom practice through whole‑school professional development and targeted support for teacher improvement
• Collaborating with Curriculum Leaders, teaching staff, and Senior Leadership to review curriculum frameworks and plan future directions
• Leading teacher performance through professional dialogue, reflective practice, and formal/informal goal setting and appraisal
• Staying current with curriculum and pedagogy developments and guiding whole‑school professional learning accordingly
• Providing induction and mentoring for beginning teachers in collaboration with Senior Leadership and Curriculum Leaders
• Supervising student learning across the school using internal and external data, and implementing strategic interventions
• Contributing to school leadership through active participation in staff and middle leadership meetings
• Managing financial and material resources within the curriculum area, including budget planning and expenditure
