Description du poste

Drive reliability, continuous improvement and operational performance across a growing manufacturing site

Looking for a role where you can make a real impact on plant performance rather than simply maintaining equipment?

We're seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our Australian Botanical Products (ABP) business, based at our Hallam manufacturing operation. This role sits at the centre of asset reliability, maintenance strategy and continuous improvement, helping to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime and build a world-class maintenance culture across the site.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Reliability Engineer who enjoys solving problems, coaching others and implementing long-term improvements that drive operational excellence. You'll have the opportunity to shape maintenance strategies, introduce improved planning disciplines and support automation and productivity initiatives across the site.

About your role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be the technical lead for asset reliability, maintenance strategy and plant performance improvement across the ABP business. You'll work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, eliminate recurring failures and ensure assets operate safely and efficiently.

The role combines reliability engineering, facilities management, maintenance planning and project work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to influence both day-to-day performance and long-term asset strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement reliability, preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Analyse downtime, failures and equipment performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead root cause investigations and defect elimination activities.
  • Improve maintenance planning, shutdown scheduling and work execution processes.
  • Manage reliability and maintenance master data within CMMS systems including MEX.
  • Develop long-term asset replacement and reliability roadmaps.
  • Support automation, operational improvement and capital project activities.
  • Management of a small team of 2 to provide coaching and technical leadership.
Who are we looking for?
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in reliability engineering, maintenance or asset management within FMCG, pharmaceutical, food, chemical or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to automated filling, packaging or high-speed production lines.
  • Strong understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance, reliability engineering and asset management principles.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, failure mode analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience using CMMS platforms such as MEX, SAP or similar maintenance systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence operators, tradespeople and leaders alike.
  • Previous people leadership experience would be great, however is not essential
  • Someone who takes initiative, enjoys coaching others and is confident bringing new ideas forward.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Why this role stands out
  • Opportunity to build and strengthen the site's reliability and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Lead reliability improvements across seven production lines, blending operations and site infrastructure.
  • Influence automation, productivity and asset optimisation projects.
  • Work closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain teams.
  • Opportunity to mentor and develop maintenance personnel while building site capability.
