Job summary

Raytheon Australia seeks an experienced Reliability Engineer to support the MV CLCM program, delivering RAM analyses and reliability improvement for Navy assets and life cycle costs.

Working across Defence and industry, you'll model RAM using FMECA, FTA, LORA and RBDs, mentor peers, and participate in the national Systems Engineering network while pursuing NV1 clearance.

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant experience in a Reliability Engineering role.
• Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline, with progression towards CPEng.
• Knowledge of ISO55000/55001 standards desirable.
• Defence acquisition/sustainment project exposure desirable.
• Exposure to Defence Logistics Toolset desirable.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
• Eligible to obtain NV1 Defence Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform RAM-related modelling and analysis (FMECA, FTA, LORA, RCM, MTA).
• Conduct reliability, supportability and root cause investigations.
• Provide RAM guidance to other program functions.
• Manage RAM models and systems (FBD, RBD, F(D)RACAS).
• Establish and maintain project reliability plans and instructions.
• Contribute to development/maintenance of Reliability Plans and Instructions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the country to deliver quality outcomes.

Working in a friendly team to meet the needs of our customer - the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), your role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing modelling and analysis that relates to Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) analysis of systems and components. This includes Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Level of Repair analysis (LORA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA).
• Conducting reliability, supportability and root cause investigations to identify key degraders in the asset being support and/or optimise asset reliability, availability, maintainability, safety and life cycle costs.
• Providing reliability engineering guidance and expertise to other functions within the program.
• Managing RAM models and systems including Functional Block Diagrams (FBD) and Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD), Failure (Data) Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (F(D)RACAS).
• Establishing and maintaining project reliability plans and instructions.
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of project Reliability Plans and Instructions.
• This role will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across the country, to develop and maintain effective relationships to deliver quality outcomes.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• 6 years of relevant experience in a Reliability Engineering role.
• Tertiary Qualification in relevant engineering discipline, (e.g. electrical, electronic, structural or mechanical backgrounds); holding as a minimum tertiary qualifications and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream.
• Knowledge of ISO55000/55001 series standards desirable
• Previous exposure to Defence acquisition and/or sustainment projects desirable
• Exposure to Defence Logistics Toolset desirable
• Ability to work in team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written skills
