Job summary

Sportsmith is seeking a Physiotherapist to support the VFL program, delivering rehabilitation and injury management to players across training and match days. You will design individualised rehab plans and provide clinical support to optimise performance and return-to-play outcomes.

Reporting to the VFL Head Physiotherapist, you will tailor rehabilitation for each player, oversee acute injury management, maintain records, mentor staff and interns, and coordinate with the High-Performance Manager

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitation support during training and match days, including player preparation and acute injury management.
• Develop and deliver individualised programs for players undergoing rehabilitation or requiring tailored support across team training and supplementary rehabilitation sessions, both in collaboration with the Head Physiotherapist and High-Performance Manager.
• Provide written reports and clinical notes to maintain club records as per AHPRA.
• Assist in developing staff and interns in reconditioning protocols.
• Regular communication with key Football Department staff, regarding rehabilitation progress, player readiness and availability.
• Conduct appropriate physical screening to inform player management and rehabilitation.
