Job summary

Queensland Corrective Services – Mareeba QLD is seeking an Activities Officer to develop, manage and deliver cultural, recreational, art, craft and hobby activities for prisoners while supervising daily operations and participating in rehabilitation through work and program activities. The role requires maintaining security and contributing to program planning.

You will coordinate staff and volunteers, prepare reports and budgets, and ensure compliance with centre procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver cultural, recreational, art, craft and hobby activities for prisoners.
• Supervise prisoners on a daily basis and participate in rehabilitation through work and program activities.
• Monitor and maintain the security of the correctional centre.
• Prepare incident reports/records and contribute to case management processes.
• Coordinate volunteers and staff to support recreational and hobby programs, budgets and reporting.
