Job summary

Voyager Energetics seeks a Technical Writer to create, maintain, and control regulatory, operational, and safety-critical documentation for energetic manufacturing operations. You will report to the Quality Manager within the Quality Department in Penrose, Colorado, onsite.

You will develop SOPs, JHAs, PHAs, MSDS, and product specifications, while ensuring compliance and alignment with R&D, production, and QA teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, English, journalism, chemistry, engineering, or related field; or 4+ years of regulated writing in manufacturing.
• Minimum 3 years of technical writing in regulated manufacturing, defense, chemical, or similar environment.
• Experience writing SOPs, work instructions, or regulatory documentation in a compliance-driven setting.
• Excellent written English; clear, concise technical prose.
• Proficiency with MS Office and document management systems; basic tooling knowledge.
• Working knowledge of document control principles and revision history management.
• U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident; able to pass federal background checks for ATF/DoD requirements.

Responsibilities

• Author, revise, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, batch records, traveler documents, and process control docs.
• Develop and update hazard analyses (JHA, PHA) and Explosive Safety Site Plans with safety personnel.
• Produce MSDS, Technical Data Packages, and product specifications.
• Support QMS through documenting procedures, NCRs, CAPA records, and audit findings.
• Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality, and QA to reflect validated processes in standardized formats.
• Assist in creation and formatting of First Article Inspection Reports and related quality records.
• Develop and revise training materials on explosive safety, handling procedures, PPE, and regulatory topics.
