Job summary

The ACT Law Society is hiring a Regulatory Support Officer to assist the Regulatory Services team across complaints, licensing and conduct matters. This hands-on role requires professionalism, clear judgement and precise admin skills, within a small, high-performing team.

Based in Canberra, this on-site position offers a 35-hour week, a salary of $75,000–$80,000 plus super, and extra leave entitlements including wellbeing and Christmas shutdown leave, with supportive leadership and a positive

Qualifications

• Experience in administrative, regulatory or professional services support roles.
• Strong written and verbal communication (clear, accurate, professional).
• Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
• Experience providing committee or secretariat support.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities in a small team.
• Ability to quickly pick up a statutory/regulatory framework relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Responding to enquiries from members and the public, providing information about complaint and regulatory processes.
• Providing admin support across complaints, licensing, compliance and conduct matters.
• Maintaining accurate records in the Complaint Management System and membership database.
• Providing committee/secretariat support (agendas, minutes, logistics and meeting coordination).
• Preparing correspondence, reports, statistics and regulatory documentation.
• Supporting continuous improvement and process efficiencies within the team.
• Pitching in across engagement, finance and regulatory services when coverage is needed.
