The role focuses on coordinating clinical care, supporting residents’ health and mentoring care staff, with options for casual and permanent part-time positions. Successful candidates will hold AHPRA registration, have aged care experience, and be committed to resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience in residential aged care.
• Current National Police Check.
• Current Influenza vaccination as per QLD aged care requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team.

Registered Nurses - Aged Care (Open to Night Shift)

Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd, located in Mackay, Queensland, operates two aged care facilities: Kerrisdale Gardens and Good Shepherd Lodge. We are seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses to join our clinical team. Successful candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care, supervising and supporting care staff, and maintaining a safe and caring environment for residents.

About the Role:

As an RN, you will play a vital role in coordinating and delivering clinical care, supporting residents’ health and well-being, and mentoring care staff under the guidance of our facility management. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. We are hiring for casual and permanent part-time positions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to residents, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
• Supervise and support care staff in delivering high-quality care
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with care plans and clinical guidelines
• Monitor and report on resident health status, including vital signs and changes in condition
• Maintain accurate resident records and documentation in compliance with healthcare standards
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents and their families
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements

About You:

We are looking for a professional, compassionate, and reliable individual committed to delivering excellent nursing care. The successful candidate will have:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Previous experience in residential aged care
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment
• Commitment to resident-centered care and adherence to care plans
• Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain prior to employment
• Current Influenza (Flu) Vaccination or willingness to obtain, in line with QLD aged care requirements
