Job summary

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service in Rockhampton is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Surgical Unit. You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care to adult patients, conduct assessments, plan and evaluate care, and support families throughout their stay.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, mentor ENs and AINs, contribute to professional development, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA/NMBA Registered Nurse registration.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Clear communication and relationship-building with patients, families and colleagues.
• Leadership and support capabilities for ENs and AINs.

About us

Rockhampton Hospital's 36-bed Surgical Unit provides 24/7 inpatient care for adults aged 17 and over across Central Queensland. The unit supports a broad range of surgical specialties, including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Gynaecology, Urology, Ophthalmology and Dental, as well as limited Facio-maxillary care for patients awaiting transfer to Brisbane.

• Clear communication and relationship-building skills, working effectively with patients, families, colleagues and the multidisciplinary team.
• Leadership and support capabilities, with the ability to guide and support ENs and AINs and contribute to the CQHHS Nursing and Midwifery Professional Practice Model.

What we offer

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $10,707 p.m. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $44.27 - $56.79 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
