Mater Central Queensland - Rockhampton in Townsville is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join the Surgical ward. This permanent Part-Time role offers 0.6–0.8 FTE with a 24/7 rotating roster (morning, afternoon and night shifts) in a busy perioperative setting.

Our 38-bed ward cares for orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, plastics, ENT and bariatric procedures, delivering patient‑centred care from pre‑op to discharge.

Qualifications

• Registered Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA, must have current registration.
• Minimum 1 year post-graduate experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 rotating roster (morning, afternoon, night).
• Proficiency with digital systems and basic computing.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred nursing care under supervision of the RN.
• Support perioperative and intraoperative care across the surgical journey.

About the role

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking applications for an Enrolled Nurse to join ourSurgical ward. We offer excellent flexibility, with opportunities ranging from Permanent Part-Time 0.6 FTE through to 0.8FTE. Choose the arrangement that best suits your lifestyle! Our 38 bed Surgical Ward provides care to patients across a diverse range of specialties, including orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, plastics, ENT and bariatric surgery. Our team delivers high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the surgical journey, from pre-operative preparation through to post-operative recovery and discharge planning.

Salary range: $37.93 - $40.34 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+ access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As an Enrolled Nurse you will provide patient-centred nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse on duty.

• Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate
• Demonstrating clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients during perioperative journey
• Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
• Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

• Have current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse with no notations
• Demonstrated experience in asurgical settinghighly regarded not essential
• Minimum of 1 year post grad working in an acute hospital setting
• Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment
• Be able to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines and recognise priority tasks
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with a focus on exceptional patient-centered care and customer service
• Digital and computer proficiency
