Job summary

The NSW Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network seeks a qualified Registered Nurse (AHPRA) for the Cooma Correctional Centre. The role requires at least one year of nursing experience and involves screening and health assessments of individuals in custody.

This is a targeted Aboriginal position with preference for Aboriginal descent. Remuneration is $43.46–$57.88 per hour plus superannuation, with various employment types and training opportunities in a supportive team.

The Role

We're currently looking for a qualified Registered Nurse currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and at least one full year of nursing experience.

The Registered Nurse performs reception screening and comprehensive health assessments on persons received into custody whilst assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing management.

Cooma Correctional Centre is a minimum-security facility located in the Snowy Monaro region of NSW, just over an hour from Canberra. Set in the scenic town of Cooma, known for its strong community and access to the Snowy Mountains, the centre focuses on inmate rehabilitation and reintegration.
